Growing up with my Grandmother in Benin City, I got to embrace the rich culture and traditions of the Edo people at a very early age. I attended celebrations such as traditional weddings, the Igue festival and the Ewere festival. The weddings particularly fascinated me. I was always amazed at the costumes, coral beads, the songs and how much significance were attached to the ceremony. 

Having now lived in diaspora for almost two decades, I see the need for these traditions not only to be preserved but also to be passed on to our children in ways their generation can relate to, understand & enjoy .
